The 13th annual BaconFest is this Saturday, March 30th from 1 to 6 p.m. at Dad’s Garage Theatre in Inman Park. A full 100% of the proceeds benefs Dad’s Garage. Festival goers can take advantage of a slew of activities including a Hobo Wine Tasting, Sanity Smooches, Hunt an Improvisor, a fantastic silent auction and more. Helping to keep the party going all day long, local bands like Mike LaSage and the Stumbling Troubadours and the Dirty Poets are prepared to take the stage.
While the more than 1200 pounds of bacon donated by The Vortex Bar & Grill and cooked up by D.B.A. Barbecue is always the main attraction, BaconFest has a silent auction with packages and experiences that are up for grabs. This includes a pair of round-trip tickets to anywhere in the United States. Additional silent auction items have been donated by the Cartoon Network, Yacht Rock Review, Adult Swim, Atlantic Station, the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre, and my book, Food Lovers’ Guide to Atlanta (shameless plug, I know).
Dad’s Garage, a local nonprofit theatre that produces comedy improv and original scripted work year-round. Tickets start at $28 and are on sale now for ages 21 and up at www.dadsgarage.com. BaconFest will be held outside in the parking lots of Dad’s Garage Theatre in Inman Park at 280 Elizabeth Street, Suite C-101.
