I don’t know about you, but I’m ALWAYS looking for ways to make date night with the hubby more creative. And even if you live in the suburbs like moi, that doesn’t mean you can’t find fun ideas!
This is a partnership with the Roswell CVB and my meals were compliments of them.
Even in smaller neighborhoods, there are fantastic restaurants and venues popping up for fun, you just have to do a little research. Or, if you live in Atlanta, just steal my date night crawl idea. We went to 3 different spots – one for drinks + apps, one for entrees and one for dessert + entertainment. And we found it all in Roswell, GA.
Date night stop 1 was at The Whiskey Project. Sure, if you love whiskey they’ve got whiskey galore, that’ll leave you in awe, or if you’re a Manhattan fan like me, GET ONE! But honestly they have all kinds of crazy good cocktails, no matter what your booze of choice. I’d been to this Roswell spot once before for an Amrut Whisky Dinner and it was incredible.
Of course you need to something to put in your stomach to stand up to that booze, and we couldn’t think of anything better than their shrimp fritters. Pro tip: Make sure to reserve their comfy leather chairs for your date night. There are only two pairs of these, so you’ll definitely want to call ahead for them.
Now you may be wondering about transportation to these spots, right? We were date night crawling on a Saturday, so parking could be difficult. The good news is there is a free trolley on the weekends that you can ride close to the different places. Unfortunately, for us, the weather wasn’t cooperating very nicely and we ended up driving. But lucky for us, we easily found parking at all the spots.
I love me some good sushi and was thrilled to discover Monkey 68. First of all, I love restaurants that are in converted homes. But how cute is the design here?
I know this was a date night crawl, but we couldn’t resist the squid legs app. And then we proceeded to eat ALL THE SUSHI! First we had 2 signature rolls (swipe on the carousel below to see more), Toro on Fire (OMG – I’m hooked) and the Gangnam style (ribeye – sorry sushi purists – not sorry) it was delicious! And then we followed that up with the Chef’s Sashimi platter. If you don’t want to bother with looking at a menu at all though, they do have an Omakase dinner as well. Here they chef picks the best dishes and sends them out to you.

So, if the design + sushi isn’t enough to make you run there, get this, they have a cocktail for every Chinese New Year sign. Can I tell you a secret? I cheated! I got the rabbit for the ginger and gin combo, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. I promptly caved and got my sign – dragon, which is uber cool! Swipe above to see it being poured (smoke and all) in the video above!
Ah, the date nigh trifecta, aka stop 3 on our date night crawl, was at Roswell Provisions! Who knew such a fun spot existed in the heart of Roswell? What’s cool about it? It is part coffee spot, dessert spot and live music venue as well! With two levels, you can opt to hang out downstairs and end date night with coffee. Nothing wrong with that at all. In fact, they have some delicious gelato too. But upstairs is where all the action is. We got to choose form a cozy little corner table with terrific views of the performers, or (and this is totally what you should do!), opt for seating in one of the rooms off to the side. They have comfy couches and although it was a separate room, we had a perfect view to the musicians.
