Fuji Hana in Kennesaw Gets a New Home

Posted by

I’ve long enjoyed the sushi and Thai selections available at Fuji Hana. Although Fuji Hana is part of a chain of restaurants around the Atlanta, it does stand out in the quality of food. I was invited to a leisurely lunch to get a sampling of some of the latest offerings at Fuji Hana.

Upon entering, it is apparent the change in design from the previous location. Fuji Hana’s new layout is much sleeker and modern than their old decor. Dark colors permeate the restaurant and modern glass mosaic tile is spread across the back wall of the sushi bar.

I couldn’t resist starting lunch off with a sweet Thai iced tea. Shortly after I was sipping on my tea, we were brought Conch in shrimp crisps. The creamy sauce drizzled overtop had just the right amount of spice. I also sampled a couple salads (Nam Sod and Som Tum) and Fuji Hana’s wings. The wings are nothing pretty to look at but man, oh, man are those guys tasty.

Next up it was sushi time. The presentation of everything at Fuji Hana is gorgeous, but the sushi especially is exceptional. We began light, with some pieces of Yellowtail topped with jalapeno in a slightly sweet sauce. Then I moved on to the more substantial Lobster roll and the Summer Roll, tuna topped with mango and avocado. Both were spectacular – I’d order any of these again in a heartbeat.

But let’s not forget the Thai food. There’s plenty on the menu for those that love it as well. I was treated to Pad Thai and a Masaman Curry. Love the huge shrimp in the Pad Thai, but as I adore hot, Thai curries I expected to enjoy the Masaman curry more. It seemed to be missing something, not quite sure what, but it just fell a bit flat for me. The Pad Thai was the better dish of the two.

Beautiful decor and spectacular presentation set Fuji Hana apart from all the other chain madness in the Kennesaw area. If you are in the area and need a tasty option for lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed. Prices are extremely reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. They even do Hibachi if you have a desire for that.
