Queen of Cream Ice Cream Now Open in Old 4th Ward

What began as a hobby and an ice cream cart, touring local food festivals and farmers markets, has finally become a brick and mortar shop and is now the most welcomed addition to the Old 4th Ward area.

Step beneath the teal electric sign and through the doors of Queen of Cream Ice Cream & Coffee Parlor and you’ll find an elegant, pristinely white space. Not your typical ice cream shop, Queen of Cream isn’t stirring up nostalgia as much as it’s serving up a new frozen experience. With a vision that was nurtured by self-taught, 28-year-old Cora Cortim and an appreciation for exceptional ingredients like guava, organic dairy products from small, local businesses (like Working Cows Dairy and Southern Swiss Dairy), and European butter, Queen of Cream is an exciting new venture.

With 12 flavors ranging from guava cheesecake to coconut, traditional dark chocolate to the ever-popular cookies and cream; Queen of Cream offers a delicious array. And if you’re a lover of the caffeine variety, their cold-brew coffee ice cream with caramelized cocoa nibs is uniquely incredible! Cora, formerly a pastry chef from Paper Plane and Cacao, was named one of Zagat’s “30 Under 30” rising stars in the Atlanta food and drink industry. She’s committed to quality and that shows. In fact, she’s taken the task of pasteurizing her frozen confections in-house and is the first ice cream shop in Atlanta to make her product 100% from scratch.

Queen of Cream offers more than just ice cream though. The morning menu features breakfast sandwiches and a small selection of pastries. Stop by for delicious coffee sourced from Revelator Coffee, a Birmingham, AL, roaster. Barista Taylor Castle, previously of Condesa Coffee, will serve as Coffee Director. From pour-over coffee to espresso, cold brew to nitro coffee on draft, each libation is intended to complement the ice-cream parlor and bakery offerings perfectly.

Located at 701 Highland Ave NE, Queen of Cream is open Monday-Friday 8am-10pm and 8am-11pm on weekends. And, if you fall in love with everything, as I gather you will, Queen of Cream’s mobile coffee cart is available for rent for private events.
