When Suzanne Vizethann of “Chopped” champion fame opens a new restaurant, it’s time to take notice. Visiting The Buttermilk Kitchen, a quaint breakfast-and-lunch-only offering tucked away on Roswell Road, made me feel like I was in a cottage of yesteryears. Sustainability is the name of the game, as Vizethann and crew work with local farmers to source food. It’s literally farm fresh table.
Vizethann filled me in on their Fried Chicken Tuesdays, the one night the restaurant will be open for dinner. It’s reservations only, BYOB and $45 for a 3-course-meal. First impressions were impressive– shiny wooden floors and unique “upcycling” where old milk bottles will serve as water pitchers, and the ceiling has designs made from old shutters.
We’re excited to try the food, which has homemade Southern comfort written all over it. The Buttermilk Kitchen is slated to open on October 8, 2012.
