9 Atlanta Restaurants to Celebrate Ceviche Day

Ceviche, a raw seafood dish hails from Latin countries. The dish is made from raw seafood being cured with citrus. Fruit like avocado, mango or even pineapple as well as cilantro are often added to the dish too. Celebrate the dish in all it’s glory at these nine Atlanta restaurants.

A Priori – When you think of Buford Highway, most of us imagine inexpensive, ethnic cuisine. A-Priori seafood restaurant stands out with its organic and seafood focused menu. The ceviche is made with shrimp and crab and has plantains for a bit of crunch.

Alma Cocina – In a sea full of chain restaurants in Downtown Atlanta, Alma Cocina is a gem. They feature four seasonal ceviches! Different varieties include

1) Shrimp with charred cucumber, orange, serrano
2) Hibiscus cured cobia with avocado, and blood orange-habanero granite
3) Scallop with chayote, jicama, grapefruit, fermented radish, serrano, coconut broth and cilantro oil and lastly
4) Mezcal cured salmon with fennel, Meyer lemon, cilantro-Vidalia onion crema and arbol vinaigrette

Bonefish Grill – This one’s for all the OTP folks. Their bay scallops, and shrimp are highlighted with sweet pineapple. They also have spiced chips for scooping up this ceviche. And it’s a steal for under $9.

Eclectic Bar and Bistro – Lobster Ceviche at this Midtown spot comes with hearty lobster pieces plus fried tortillas for scooping. Make sure to grab a seat on Eclectic’s tropical patio to enjoy this dish!

Eight Sushi – On the West Side is Eight Sushi. Their gorgeous décor is matched equally by their food. Their ceviche dish (pictured at the top) comes with a shot of soy to be injected at the table.

The El Felix – Located in Avalon, this is the twin to Ford Fry’s Superica at Krog Street Market. The spicy shrimp, octopus and crab is the perfect way to kick off your meal.

Lure – This seafood restaurant, located in the heart of Midtown, is perfect to hit up before a night of debauchery in Midtown. If you are looking for something light, the ceviche is a super option. They change the type of ceviche regularly. You may find Scallop ceviche or fish or shrimp. But rest assured, it will be tasty!

Rock ‘N Taco – Rock ‘N Taco now has two locations, Buckhead and Sandy Springs. Props to them for the best deal on Ceviche (pictured at the top left of the page). This delectable seafood dish is a steal at $11 and comes with shrimp and large pieces of lobster. Pro Tip: Eat like a king (or queen) by following up the ceviche with the Ahi Tuna tacos.

Zocalo – During summer nights, not much beats sipping on a cocktail and watching the action perched from a comfy seat on the deck of a Midtown hot spot. At Zocalo. Happiness is their Shrimp Ceviche. The spicy habanero citrus is lovely and the shrimp are complimented by tomato, avocado and pickled onions.
