Hotel Indigo, Midtown, Atlanta Gets a Makeover

Hotel Indigo Midtown is the botique hotel located across the street from the Fox Theatre in Midtown. I’d never been to Hotel Indigo Middtown before, but I understand that it had a beach theme when it opened in 2004. However, Hotel Indigo and its restaurant 683 Bar and Bistro recently had quite the makeover. I was invited to Hotel Indigo to see their new digs, including a fancy bar with wine dispensing machine and sample some menu items.

I love the bright, punchy colors. There’s definitely nothing ho-hum about the decor. With 38 hotels globally, there are plans for 60 more. It is interesting to note that each Hotel Indigo pays tribute to a local landmark. In Atlanta, that landmark is the historic Fox Theatre. The surrounding walls are decorated with the designs of various Broadway shows that have made their way to the Fox. But it doesn’t end there. They’ve even gone so far as to take printouts of tickets from concerts and events and make a collage of sorts against one of the walls.

But the homage to things local doesn’t end with the decor. Hotel Indigo makes it a point to support local vendors with their food and beverage menu too. We were able to sample beer (Jail House, Sweetwater), wine, cheeses, produce and baked goods all sourced from local vendors. The menu changes with the seasons to take advantage of what’s fresh from local farmers. Oh and see that Popcorn Martini? So delish. How great would it be to pop over when taking in a show at the Fox and sip on one of these?
