For years, we’ve heard there’s a surplus of Lobster, yet that has not made waves in the south when it comes to lobster prices. But I’m a lobster fanatic and will do just about anything for a delicious lobster roll. Hot or cold lobster roll doesn’t matter to me – I love them both. Here’s where you can find the best lobster rolls in Atlanta!
Ocean and Acre in Halcyon Lobster Roll (Located in the new Halcyon complex in Forsyth)
I love how they’ve sliced into a croissant to serve their lobster roll at this North Fulton restaurant. The sandwich has large chunks of butter soaked lobster pieces. So indulgent and decadent, just try not to think about how many calories and carbs you are having and just enjoy this opulent meal. Oh and they’ve got fabulous cocktails too! Atlanta Fish Market’s Lobster Roll
If you haven’t been to the Atlanta Fish Market in Buckhead, you are missing out, truly! In fact, the Buckhead Life Restaurant Group has been a staple in the Buckhead neighborhood for decades. Their lobster roll is one of the best in Atlanta and it probably has to do with the fact that they formed their own seafood market because they felt they couldn’t get he freshest seafood in Atlanta. Insider tip: regulars go to the back and sit at the bar instead of the dining room. It’s more relaxed and laid back.
Chiringa’s Lobster Roll (Alpharetta, GA)
Don’t worry if you can’t make it into town to try one of the best lobster rolls Atlanta has to offer. You can still find it outside the city in the Northern suburb of Alpharetta. I hadn’t had a lobster roll all year and by the end of the year was craving one. Luckily we picked on the most gorgeous December days of the year to visit Chiringa in Alpharetta.
The Optimist’s Lobster roll (on the Westside in Atlanta)
The Optimist seems to reign supreme as far as seafood restaurants go in Atlanta. It’s got a beautiful décor with a beachy feel that we land-locked Atlantans can’t get enough of. Although a bit small, the lobster roll at The Optimist makes for a great pick me up at lunch.
Beetlecat ‘s Lobster roll (in Atlanta’s Inman Park neighborhood)
Sister restaurant to the Optimist is Beetlecat. And who says there can’t be some sibling rivalry in the entrees? I mean just look at how gorgeous the lobster meat at Beetlecat’s lobster roll is? If you are a total seafood nut like me, go and enjoy their happy hour oyster special first. Plus, if you have out of town guests to impress, Beetelcat is the place to take them!
Seven Lamps in Buckhead has a tasty lobster roll (Buckhead, Atlanta)
Unlike many Atlanta restaurants that serve lobster rolls on hard rolls or hot dog-like buns, Seven Lamps lobster roll comes on a glorious doughy bun. It is easy to cut and share, though you probably won’t’ want to. Protip: it’s located in the shopping center adjacent to Lenox Mall with plenty of free parking, unheard of in Buckhead.

Crab 404 – a reasonably priced lobster roll (Sandy Springs, Atlanta)

Who says you have to go to some stuffy restaurant to have a lobster roll? Not Crab 404. Though they are located in Buckhead, they have a laid back atmosphere and the prices are quite affordable. Their lobster roll is full of chunky meat and is inly $19. Protip: you’ll want to order the crab claws to start. These are not only a generous portion of crab meat but the serving is plentiful. I wash it all down with a glass of sparkling rose!
Lobster Roll at the Big Ketch (Buckhead, Atlanta)
The Big Ketch serves a hot and a cold lobster roll. I sampled the hot one with large chunks of claw meat which was quite delicious. There’s a quarter pound of lobster meat in it. I find it to be much more satisfying than the over-hyped Optimist Lobster roll. And the soft roll was perfect, actually hollowed out in the center to hold lots of lobster chunks. The chickpea and cous cous side I chose was quite enjoyable too.
