Atlanta Airport food crawl – taste the Atlanta food scene without leaving the airport

Posted by

On November 8th, Atlanta’s Airport atrium will be transformed into a foodie paradise, as 30 restaurants offer up their best tastes during Taste of Hartsfield Jackson!

This is a sponsored post.

Taste of Hartsfield-Jackson showcases the diverse dining options at the world’s busiest airport. The daytime event features 30+ eateries (quick-service restaurants, local Atlanta favorites and even a celebrity owned restaurant)!

But I’m telling you this as an insider who got to explore 5 of the restaurants on this Atlanta airport food crawl just last week! I’m blown away by the dining options every time I visit the Atlanta airport. There’s always something new to try. Alas, I don’t always have time to spend dining around the airport. And let me tell you it was fun to be at the Atlanta airport not rushing to make a flight.

Allow me to share some of the highlights of the Atlanta airport food crawl:

Stop 1 on the Airport food crawl: LowCountry

Perennial favorites fried chicken and shrimp and grits at LowCountry

On our first stop we had all the best southern delicacies – friend chicken, shrimp and grits, ribs and for dessert bread pudding! A nudge from my fellow airport dining pals that this was just the first of FIVE stops and that I might want to pace myself, made me think twice about a second helping of mac and cheese, but it was just so damn delicious I had to have it. If you’ve got a long layover or flight ahead of you, this Atlanta restaurant will guarantee you feel full for a long time.

Stop 2: Bobby’s Burger Palace

While Atlanta has many local favorites that you can find at the airport, there are also some unique finds, like the newly opened Bobby’s Burger Palace, by celeb chef, Bobby Flay. One of my favorite things we had here were the house made onion rings with a spicy ranch sauce. There are also tons of varieties of burgers and sauces of all varieties like the chipotle ketchup and jalapeno sauce. Skip the Pistachio milkshake, though.

Stop 3: The Mustard Seed

Think you can’t get good barbecue at the Atlanta airport. Wrong! The Mustard Seed has its own smoker at their restaurant. Oh and the banana pudding is a must!

Stop 4: Chicken and Beer

A restaurant by another celebrity, Ludacris, Chicken and Beer, delivers delicious and hearty dishes, like the one pictured below. Fried chicken, collards, cornbread and pickled deviled eggs – doesn’t get much more southern than that!

Stop 5 at Atlanta airport restaurant crawl: Jekyll Island Seafood Company

As an added, feel good bonus, all proceeds to this Atlanta airport food crawl benefit No Kid Hungry! I think that’s a cause we can ALL get behind. Plus, you won’t break the bank to enjoy yourself. For $15 you’ll be given 10 taste tickets and the samplings are very generous at these restaurants.
