Is this the best brunch in Decatur? [plus plenty of photo ops]

Posted by

I’ve said it before – one of my favorite ways to soak up the weekend is to enjoy a leisurely brunch. It’s great to explore spots that aren’t so easily accessible during the week, like The White Bull in Decatur. During the week, it would take about two hours in rush hour traffic to get there.

Disclosure: My brunch at The White Bull was complimentary.

The setup of The White Bull is shotgun style. Long family style table on one side with a beautiful bar on the other side. I could imagine this spot being pretty loud at dinner but when I arrived for a late brunch on Sunday, we had the place to ourselves, save for about two other tables and the couple at the bar meeting with their wedding planner.

This isn’t one of those bottomless mimosa joints. They have delicious brunch cocktails you need to try. Begin with that Importance of Being Ernest cocktail. Made with grapefruit, lime, rum and cane syrup and bitters it was so delicious I ordered two! Who says mimosas are the best brunch cocktails?

Then move on to items like that smoked trout rillette (pictured at the top of the page) to start. Of course, you don’t really have to order a starter as you get some delicious sweet biscuits to begin your meal (above right too). And what should you get for your main course? If you enjoy burgers, you owe it to yourself to get the WB burger on a brioche bun with bacon jam. However, the steak and eggs with salsa roja is quite scrumptious too!

OMG – this brunch burger at The White Bull in Decatur!

If you do decide to dine in the evening, there’s the Chef’s Table at The White Bull, available Monday-Thursday and Sunday evenings from 5pm-11pm. Five-course Chef’s Table menu are $75.00 per person. Wine pairings are priced at an additional $40.00 per person. Reserve your spot at the counter: (404)-600-5649 or chefscounter@whitebullatl.com.

After we finished brunch we didn’t rush off. Instead we walked around the Decatur Square and took advantage of some of their gorgeous spots for photo ops. Protip: if you are visiting The White Bull in Decatur on a Sunday, the parking in the square (though limited) is free, so it is worth taking advantage of it if you can snag a spot!
