Mai Tai’s, Poke and all the Tiki inspired decor you can imagine at these Atlanta tiki restaurants and bars.
Hawkers Asian Street Food (located on the Atlanta beltline)
Hawkers, right on the Atlanta beltline, has several seating options. When the weather is nice, you can sit outside on the small patio tables or sit right at the outdoor bar. It’s great for people watching. But for Instagram worthy shots, be sure to sit on the inside near all the signage. On the Sunday afternoon when we visited, everyone was day drinking so no judgement as the cocktails go fantastically with the tiki fare at this Atlanta restaurant.

Tasty tiki drinks are sure to please but don’t miss out on other Asian inspired drinks like the Malaysian Mule or Chinese Fire drill.

The menu at Hawkers is huge and we barely made it past the small plates. Korean fried chicken wings, a signature curry – Po Po Los with shrimp and and the fried wontons were all terrific starts to our meal.

Trader Vic’s has fancy tiki food and cocktails
Located in the basement of the Hilton hotel downtown you’ll find Trader Vic’s. The spacious restaurant features a tiki theme throughout. And after a few Mai Tai’s you may just feel like you’ve been transported the South Pacific. Huge drinks with umbrellas are the perfect way to start your tiki experience here. Try the Kung Pao chicken, salmon or Rack of Lamb. DYK? Their Chinese wood fired oven dates back to the Han Dynasty?
Though there are several Trader Vic’s throughout the world, the Atlanta one was one of the originals, standing the test of time. They often have live music here too.

Start your meal with the pork belly wraps. It was not much for two people, so I’d make two orders. We mopped up this delicious pork in minutes. We also order salmon two ways – topped on a bagel and beet cured. The latter was the best. I also enjoyed a poke bowl with tuna, rice, seaweed salad and sweet potato chips.
Bon Ton is another fantastic tiki spot with strong cocktails

Seafood rocks here at Bon Ton. Case in point is the shrimp burger pictured below. But we also had some Spicy Jicama & Papaya Salad that was outstanding. The charbroiled oysters at Bon Ton are quite delicious as well. So don’t miss them, or go with someone who doesn’t eat oysters (more for you!).

Tip: Make sure to read my warning about parking for when you visit Bon Ton – don’t get a parking ticket. www.bonton.com
