St. Regis / Astor Court, Buckhead, Atlanta (Highfalutin high tea)
Head to the St. Regis for a leisurely afternoon of tea and tasty treats. Choose from teas like the Mad Hatter black tea or pear infused green tea. Each guest is given their own tea pot that contains about three cups worth of tea. The tired tray features both sweet and savory dishes.
Afternoon tea reservations are available Friday through Sunday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., and reservations are highly recommended.

Bistro VG in Roswell, Atlanta (Girls just want to have fun)
Okay, this is by far my absolute. favorite place to have tea in Atlanta! Sure, it is a little bit outside the city, but it is so worth it. I already LOVE Bistro VG for their sexy date night atmosphere and amazing dinner. If you are planning date night, definitely put Bistro VG on your list, friends. But you have to visit for high tea.
So, here’s the setup. At 12:30 one Saturday each month, Bistro VG has a fabulous themed tea event. They change up the menu to go with it too. I attended the Galentine’s tea, but upcoming tea themes include a Greek themed one (the owners have Greek heritage), which sounds amazing. And don’t worry if you don’t have a hat. I didn’t and was just going to attend this afternoon tea sans one, but much to my surprise, when you walk in, the bar area is decked out with an assortment of fun hats (or fabricators if you want to get technical) to choose from! The Ginger Room (proper tea without the pretense)
Owners Angela and Karl revamped the oldest house in Alpharetta, the Skelton-Teasly house, all by themselves. And they did an amazing job. It couldn’t be more cute and welcoming, all with a touch of class that the owners bring to this new tea house in Alpharetta.
They are welcoming to all, and seem rather laid back about any pretenses when it comes to tea. Pinkies up or not, you will feel right at home. And you know what else? Their gorgeous collection of tea cups from many in the neighborhood who had antique tea cups and donated them when they found out the couple were going to be opening a tea house. How cool is that?
I especially enjoyed the For Mason Fancy (Darjeeling) and the housemate Bakewell tarts!! The Rooibos Chai and the Sippin on Gin & Tonic tea was also quite interesting. They are definitely not your average teas. But they also have reservations available on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:30, 3 and 5:30.

Zen Tea in Chamblee, Atlanta (Channel your inner yogi)
If you liked Yoga before it was hot and enjoy meditation along with a calming atmosphere, Zen Tea is a good option for afternoon tea in Atlanta. The teas occur just once a week on Saturdays at 4pm. The cool thing is that each week they focus on a different type of tea. You’ll get to taste 5 or 6 different varieties, much like a wine tasting, except it isn’t paired with food.

When I visited parking was pretty scarce. I don’t know what they do when they are totally packed! So get to this Atlanta tea house early to make sure you get a decent parking spot!
Dr. Bombay’s Underwater tea party in Candler Park, Atlanta – (Tea with a cause)
With a name like Dr. Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party, you kinda know you are going to have a good time, right? This small kitschy spot is tucked away in Candler Park. There’s the pretty umbrella room and brick walls with tons They serve a strictly vegetarian only menu. Cost is $17.50 per person. Reservations must be booked in advance.

Samosa at Dr. Bombay’sOnce a month they have fundraisers at the tea house in Atlanta. For $20 per person, we were treated to wine (nothing fancy – the Two Buck Chuck variety) and appetizer and vegetarian entree. Makeshift tables are pulled together to accommodate the filled to capacity (about 40 people) room. While wine was readily available, most seemed to prefer the iced Darjeeling tea to wash down the savoy, spicy food. Chana Masala and Aloo Gobi were served for dinner. Dr. Bombay’s sells packs of tea and other items to raise funds for their charity work. The dinners take place the last Monday of each month.
