Rock N Taco, a Roswell restaurant / bar, is headed by Chef Gabriel Panama. I first met him earlier this year at his new concept, Red Martini, a late night lounge featuring fancy cocktails and sushi. Once I got a taste of his cooking, I knew a visit to Rock N Taco was in order.

Chef Panama really gave us the royal treatment, spoiling us with a bevy of items to start including Oysters, Egg rolls and Ceviche to start at Rock N Taco. My personal favorite, the Ceviche, comes with shrimp and large chunks of lobster, and is a bargain at just $11.

The highlight of the menu at Rock N Taco are the gourmet tacos with a variety of 20 to choose from between 3 and 4 bucks. Unique ones include the Duck Confit, Roasted Lamb and Mediterranean with smoked salmon, capers, goat cheese and a basil aioli. But if you love or even just like Tuna Poke, you are making a mistake if you don’t get at least one of these tacos. I don’t know how they can fill it full of so much goodie for just 4 dollars. This is sushi grade tuna, seaweed salad and a wasabi mousse. Wowza!
If you like fajitas, Rock N Taco makes fantastic ones. We got the sampler with shrimp, chicken, steak and tofu (see the sizzle in the video above). Served on a volcano stone with peppers, onions, the $25 price tag says it feeds two, but this could easily feed 4 or more if you have appetizers.
As the name suggests, Rock N Taco features live music. Catch it on Fridays and Saturday evenings. Get there early if you want to snag a prime spot on the rooftop patio. Sundays feature $15 buckets of beer, $15 1lb crab legs, $10 1/2 Dz oysters and $5 Bloody Marys.
Tips: While the small lot adjacent to the restaurant fills up fast, there are plenty of other lots nearby.
Disclosure: Chef Panama hosted me for dinner, but the opinions expressed are my own.
